About Brazil

About Brazil;

Brazil is the largest country in Latin America. It spreads across almost half (47.3%) of South America, and occupies a total area of 8,547,403.5 km2. It is the fifth largest country in the world after Canada, the Russian Federation, China and the United States. Except for a small number of islands, Brazil is a single and continuous landmass.

The Equator crosses through the Northern region, near Macapa, and the Tropic of Capricorn cuts through the South of the country, near São Paulo.

Brazil’s east to west extension (4,319.4 km) is almost equivalent to the distance from north to south (4,394.7 km). The country borders French Guiana, Suriname, Guiana, Venezuela and Colombia, to the north; Uruguay and Argentina, to the south; and Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru, to the west. Ecuador and Chile are the only two countries on the South American continent that do not border Brazil.

The Atlantic Ocean extends along the country’s entire eastern coast, providing 7,367 km of coastline.

Why travel around Brazil?

Because Brazil is an exuberant country by nature
In Brazil, exuberance is everywhere: in the vastness of the desert sands of Lençóis Maranhenses, in the 7,000 kilometers of beaches, in the rivers so large that they resemble the sea.

In the Amazon Forest, the largest on the planet. In the 250,000 km² of Pantanal, the impressive natural reserve and a World Heritage Site.

Beauty is also in the 44 national parks that preserve the ecosystem, in the archaeological sites of Piauí, in the sky of Brasilia and in the pampas of Rio Grande do Sul.

In the majestic mountains of Minas Gerais and in the appalling tidal wave (pororoca), the strange and noisy meeting of the waters in the states of Amapá and Pará.

In Brazil, wherever you go you can live many unique experiences that will delight and thrill you.

Because emotion is included in every trip
Brazil is internationally known for carnival, soccer and for tourist attractions like Corcovado, the Amazon, Pantanal and Iguazu Falls.

But like its people and its culture, the country’s tourism options are diverse and exciting.

In cities like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, visitors have at their disposal a wide range of cultural options such as museums, quality cuisine and music of all styles - from folk to classical.

Those who insist on learning about our culture can enjoy popular festivities that reveal much of the history, art and wealth of the Brazilian people.

There are options for all tastes: Bumba-meu-boi in the North, festivals of European influence in the South and, of course, carnival in Rio de Janeiro - the biggest celebration on the planet.

Nature in Brazil deserves special attention, with several ecological parks and ecosystems: the Amazon rain forest, savannas in the northeast, the Atlantic forest in the Southeast, Pantanal (wetlands) in the Central-West and pampas in the South. Moreover, in cities like Curitiba and

Rio de Janeiro you can visit botanical gardens that blend their historic value with Brazilian biodiversity.
